Cat Aggression Toward Owner
Bo-Billie and I are getting along so great these days. Just wanted to say how much you helped us and thank you for all you did. — D.B.

Update!
I wanted to drop you a line and let you know that Zoe and King have been getting along very well lately!
He has learned to get up and move when she comes near him and he doesn’t want to be bothered. And this week she offered him a tennis ball and he took it from her hand without any problems. We repeated the ‘game’ three or four times. She bats at him and tries to pet him, and he takes it in stride and doesn’t seem to mind her.
Since you came to visit us, I have seen such a difference in his behavior and felt so much better about their interactions. Thank you again for all of your help! — Renee

Litter Box Update
“I wanted to give you the two month ‘everything is going great’ update. Life is much happier and my patience with him has paid off. Thanks for all your help and support.”
— C.H. Falls Church

Update!
I heard some story about him (very scary, attacking his holder at a show, failed adoptions, and almost labeled “Unadoptable”). I am so happy we got him, and invested time with him and now he is a great behaved dog! Thanks for all of your help and guidance!

Update and Thanks!
Reilly – a 11/2 year old rescue, was suffering from anxiety when his owner was out and would excessively groom himself, resulting in significant hair loss. He would not get into the car without a lot of work, was exceedingly anxious while riding in the car, drooling, with very high activity that resembled a panic attack. He was also highly aroused when guests were in the house, jumping, biting, pacing, panting, and jumping upon them. The client was at a loss, but loved him and wanted to help. We saw Reilly almost a year ago, and I recently received this e-mail from our client. “Reilly is now riding in the car and goes weekly with my pet sitter to play in play groups with other dogs, etc. He seems to be really well adjusted with other people and other dogs and has calmed down immensely(although he still has a tendency to get excited when first seeing someone). He has not had an episode of chewing his hair(at least any that are noticeable) for several months(I would estimate at least 3-4 months) and is much calmer and much less aggressive. He is doing really well with his commands.
Thanks again for all of your help. You would not recognize Reilly, I am sure. I am so happy that he has made such progress and can’t thank you enough for all of your help. I am sometimes in awe of how far we have come. Anyway, he is turning into a great companion dog, and is greeted with joy by everyone who comes in contact with him. – J.T., Maryland
“Thanks again for everything. We definitely have seen positive changes in Phoebe. We are so happy that we contacted you and gained more knowledge about our “special dog”.

Update and Thanks!
“It’s like he is a different dog–almost. It’s so cute and rewarding to see him run out the back door and into the yard with out any coaching.
It really is amazing to see what this dog has become. I know he still has a ways to go, but he is much closer than a few months ago.” – KK

Thanks!
“Before you came to our house, we were pretty sure we would have to get rid of her, but we couldn’t bring ourselves to doing it because we pretty much knew her fate. But now she has completely turned around since your help – we couldn’t be happier with this situation and we really just didn’t think it was possible a few months ago. Thanks again.” – Rob

Great Progress
We want to let you know how happy we are with Abigail’s progress. Not only did she begin using her litterbox again, but she has become a more affectionate member of the family. We appreciate the professional yet gentle way you worked with her. – S.N.
We could not be more thrilled with Cassie’s progress. All of your valuable suggestions put her behavior into perspective, and for that we are so grateful. I can’t imagine how many people give away, abandon, and even euthanize pets with this problem. I know how close we were to giving up on Cassie. Thank you again for keeping our little family together – healthy and happy. – J.H.

The Truce is Holding
“The truce seems to still be held, and no newly discovered inappropriate elimination! The biggest change is that the girls’ are playing, well, sort of playing with each other.”
– G.T.
Thank you for all your help with Caesar. We were about to give up on the pup! Your information and recommendations were easy to follow, and knowing you were only a phone call away helped us cope during our “crisis”. We will highly recommend you to everyone we know with any type of pet! All the best. – R.M.

Really Extraordinary Experience
I want to thank you for a really extraordinary experience in connection with diagnosing and treating my Harriet’s dominance aggression. Your guidelines, notes, fact sheet and book recommendations are the first coherent and feasible set of materials I’ve encountered, over the few years of trying to figure out my girl. (Also, they’re beautifully written.)
I finally have concepts, instead of mindless rules, to work with, but the practices you suggest are great, too. . .They are do-able. . . – L.K.

Huge Progress
I think we have made huge progress with our CairnTerrier, Calder. We have had no more aggression incidents, and when he is frantic barking outside at night, I can now get his attention. Then he will come to me and follow me in – sometimes in 2-3 trips closer to the steps – but he always comes. The pecking order seems to be going well. Our female Cairn, Kinsey, still rules the roost and Calder still rules my daughter’s pup. Much better dynamics around the house and we are all working with the rules. – P.B.

Update!
“I really feel that our efforts are paying off. Our Miniature Schnauzer, Jake appears to be “catching on” and tries to self-correct when he hears me say “Oops” or “Oh-oh.” If I have to re-direct, Jake seems to calm down so much faster than he used to . . .a very calm and quiet tone goes a long way!! It is so obvious when my son or husband “forget” and get Jake too stirred up, but they are getting much better at re-directing the behavior. – “M.M.
So far we have a 100% success rate with the dogs and fosters you have helped. So our thanks is to you! My hope is that these fosters will now learn training techniques that will help with future foster dogs as well. I know Jane is already practicing things she learned from you with her new foster dog! – OBG Cocker Spaniel Rescue
“Your patience with the boys and us, your understanding of the situation, and your practical recommendations for steps to get us back on track have given us hope. Thanks again, and we’ll keep you posted as we get through this.”
– Client with feline rivalry concerns
